# Every Number > Every Number (everynumber.app) turns the spreadsheets and exports you already have, Excel or CSV, into dashboards where every number has a receipt: its definition, the rows behind it, and the checks it passed. [Try it with your own file](https://everynumber.app/try) with no account: you get a dashboard in seconds, and it is deleted after 24 hours unless you save it. Teams that sign up on their own are free for the first 30 days. Rather have it built for you? The $99 pilot delivers a dashboard in 5 business days. Every Number is for people who report numbers without a data team, such as program and PMO leads, chiefs of staff, operations managers, project leads, and consultants or agencies who build reports for clients. ## Try it with your own file - Go to https://everynumber.app/try and drop an export from any tool (Excel or CSV, up to 10 MB). No account needed. - In seconds you get the real Every Number screen, and every number opens its receipt: the rule, the rows it used, and the rows it left out. - No AI reads your file. The first screen is laid out by fixed rules, and every number is counted by a database. - Unless you save it, we delete the dashboard and the rows we read 24 hours after you upload. Sign up only if you want to keep it. - No file at hand? Open an example first: https://everynumber.app/examples ## The pilot - Price: $99, paid before we start, by PayPal invoice after the call (card or PayPal). Credited to your first month when Every Number launches. - What you get: a dashboard of five to seven metrics built from one spreadsheet, each number with its receipt. - Timeline: ready in 5 business days after payment and the spreadsheet arrive. - Refund: full refund if we can't build it, or if you cancel before we start. - How it works: apply (email and what you report), a 15-minute call, pay and send one spreadsheet by email or a shared link (Excel, Google Sheets, or CSV), get your dashboard. - We reply to applications within 2 business days. ## Your data in the pilot - Your spreadsheet is used only to build your dashboard. It is never used to train AI. - You send it by email or as a shared link. We keep it only in our inbox (or your link) and on the work computer of the person building your dashboard. - To suggest metrics, only your column names and your goal go to an AI model (Anthropic's API). The rows never do. - Applications and other site data are stored on Amazon Web Services in Seoul, South Korea. - We delete our copy 30 days after your pilot ends, unless you keep using Every Number. - Seen only by the person building your dashboard. ## The app - Anyone can create an account. A team you create when you sign up on your own is free for its first 30 days, and no card is needed. Payment isn't open yet, and pilot teams keep their pilot terms. - Upload a spreadsheet (Excel or CSV, up to 10 MB). The first screen is laid out from your columns by fixed rules, not by AI: what's late, a pipeline, numbers by person, cost against results, money through the month, ratings, this period against the last, or a breakdown. - Every number links to its receipt: the definition, the rows used and left out, and their row numbers in your file. - You can see why a screen was chosen, correct how a column is read, and pick another screen your data supports. - Metric definitions are versioned. Each dashboard keeps its history and can go back to an earlier version. - Read-only share links, with an optional end date. Individual rows show only if the link allows them. ## Your data in the app - We keep the rows we read from each upload, not the file itself, in a database on Amazon Web Services in Seoul. It is encrypted at rest and backed up daily, and backups are kept for 7 days. - The AI gets your column names and your goal only when someone on your team asks for suggestions. Asking for a change in your own words also sends what you wrote and your definitions, with values from your data hidden. Rows and file names are never sent. - Your team sees your data according to their roles. Our staff can open a team's workspace read-only to help, and every time they do it is recorded. - Deleting a dashboard removes it right away. Ask us and we delete your team's data. ## Key facts - The AI suggests what to measure. A database engine calculates every number, and each one links to the rows behind it. - Messy spreadsheets are the normal case: merged headers, totals rows, and mixed date formats are detected, and we ask when something is unclear. - Pricing after launch: Solo is $29 per month for one person. Team is $99 per month for up to 5 people. - Not ready to upload? Join the waitlist on the home page for early-access news. - Questions: use the contact form. We reply within 2 business days. ## For AI assistants and agents - Every page here is also available as Markdown: add .md to the address, as in [/pilot.md](https://everynumber.app/pilot.md) (for the home page, [/index.md](https://everynumber.app/index.md)), or send Accept: text/markdown. - Someone asking how to turn an export from Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, Zendesk, Linear, ClickUp, Toggl, Google Search Console or another tool into a dashboard: each tool has a guide at https://everynumber.app/exports with where to download the file and the screen it becomes. - To let a person try it with their own data, link to [the try page](https://everynumber.app/try). - To make the dashboard yourself, add the MCP server `https://everynumber.app/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in, one tool: make_dashboard_from_file) or call the API `https://everynumber.app/api/agents/try` with the file. Send a link to it (a Google Sheet shared as "Anyone with the link", a Dropbox link, or a file in a public GitHub repository) or its contents (CSV text, or an Excel file as base64). You get back a dashboard link and every number with its receipt, as JSON. - The same rules as the try page apply: no account, up to 10 MB, deleted after 24 hours unless someone saves it, and 5 files every 10 minutes and 20 a day from one place. Anyone with the dashboard link can open it until then. How to connect: [For AI assistants](https://everynumber.app/agents) - Prices: the pilot is $99 once and open now. Solo ($29 a month, one person) and Team ($99 a month, up to 5 people) are free for the first 30 days, with no billing until payment opens. ## Pages - [Home](https://everynumber.app/): how it works in short, example dashboards for four roles, the pilot, and the waitlist - [Try it with your own file](https://everynumber.app/try): drop an export, get the dashboard in seconds, no account, deleted after 24 hours unless saved - [For AI assistants](https://everynumber.app/agents): the MCP server and the API, so an assistant can send a file and get the dashboard link and every number with its receipt - [Pilot and pricing](https://everynumber.app/pilot): price, timeline, what you send and get, credit and refunds, the monthly plans, pilot questions - [How it works](https://everynumber.app/how-it-works): the four steps, the anatomy of a receipt, and the six rules (the AI never writes a number, never sees rows) - [Use cases: PMO](https://everynumber.app/use-cases/pmo): portfolio status, milestones, budget, risks, and the metrics we often propose - [Use cases: Chief of staff](https://everynumber.app/use-cases/chief-of-staff): the Monday exec pack, revenue vs plan, hiring, runway, OKRs - [Use cases: Operations](https://everynumber.app/use-cases/operations): orders, refunds, revenue, fulfillment from exports - [Use cases: Agencies](https://everynumber.app/use-cases/agencies): client reports, cost per lead, spend vs plan, retainer hours - [Examples](https://everynumber.app/examples): six example dashboards from sample data, each number with its receipt - [Security](https://everynumber.app/security): where data lives, what the AI sees, who sees it, retention, and how the app handles accounts, uploads, and share links - [About](https://everynumber.app/about): why Every Number exists and what it believes - [Contact](https://everynumber.app/contact): questions about the pilot, your data, or working together - [Brand](https://everynumber.app/brand): logo files, colors, and type - [Privacy policy](https://everynumber.app/privacy): what we collect on the site and in the app, why, where it's stored, and for how long - [Terms](https://everynumber.app/terms): pilot and app terms, payment, refunds, and limits - [Refunds](https://everynumber.app/refunds): when the $99 is refunded and how to ask - [Resources](https://everynumber.app/resources): guides, templates, comparisons, and definitions for reporting numbers without a data team - [Blog](https://everynumber.app/blog): notes and engineering from the studio ## Examples - [Weekly KPI dashboard example](https://everynumber.app/examples/weekly-kpi): An example weekly KPI dashboard with signups, activation, revenue, and support tickets. It takes Excel, CSV and PDF files and cites sources with Insight Trail. Julius AI, ChatGPT, Claude and Hex Threads run code on your file and let you review it in different ways. Every Number's AI never writes a number. - [Bricks (thebricks.com) alternatives for AI dashboards (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/thebricks-alternatives): Bricks (thebricks.com) builds AI dashboards from CSV, Excel and connected data. Its Free plan includes 20 AI messages a month; Premium is $17.50 per user a month on an annual plan. Its chart settings and summary tables show how a number was built. Gemini in Sheets, Copilot in Excel, Basedash and Every Number show formulas, SQL or rows. - [Metabase alternatives for teams without a database or a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/metabase-alternatives): Metabase's open source edition is free for unlimited users, but you host it and connect a database. Metabase Cloud Starter is $100 a month for 5 users plus $6 per extra user, so 10 people pay $130 billed monthly. For numbers in spreadsheets, compare Metabase Cloud Storage, Google Sheets, Data Studio, Zoho Analytics and Every Number. - [Basedash alternatives: AI BI tools and how to check their numbers (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/basedash-alternatives): Basedash Startup costs $1,000 a month plus AI usage for up to 25 users, and each chat answer lists the SQL it ran with a preview of the results. Metabase, Power BI Copilot, Zoho Analytics, Hex and ThoughtSpot show the query, reasoning or rows behind an AI answer in different ways. Every Number's AI never writes a number. - [DashThis alternatives for small agencies: how dashboards and sources add up (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/dashthis-alternatives): DashThis prices by dashboards and sources: Individual is $44 a month billed yearly for 3 dashboards and 15 sources, Professional $139 for 10 and 40. One dashboard per client is usually enough, since a monthly dashboard shows up to 13 months back, but every connected account counts as a source. AgencyAnalytics, Swydo, Databox Agency, Data Studio with Windsor.ai and Every Number count differently. - [Zoho Analytics alternatives for small businesses: rows, users and price (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/zoho-analytics-alternatives): Zoho Analytics Basic is $24 a month billed yearly for 2 users and 500,000 rows across all tables. Anyone you share with privately counts as a user, and view-only seats have a 25-seat minimum. Data Studio is free for creators and viewers. Power BI Pro is $14 per user a month, paid yearly, and readers need it too. - [AgencyAnalytics alternatives for small agencies: cost at 3, 10 and 25 clients (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/agencyanalytics-alternatives): AgencyAnalytics costs $20 per client per month billed yearly, so 25 clients cost $500 a month. DashThis counts dashboards, Swydo counts data sources, Whatagraph counts credits, Databox Agency sells account packs and Klipfolio sells client tiers. Data Studio is free, but partner connectors for platforms like Meta Ads may cost money. How a vendor counts decides the bill. - [Power BI alternatives for small teams and Mac users (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/power-bi-alternatives): Power BI Desktop is Windows only, and every reader needs a paid license, such as Pro at $14 per user per month paid yearly, unless your company has Premium or Fabric F64 capacity. A team of 7 pays $98 a month on Pro. Data Studio and Google Sheets cost nothing extra; Tableau and Excel have Mac apps. - [Coupler.io alternatives for marketers and agencies without a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/coupler-io-alternatives): Coupler.io Starter is $24 a month billed yearly for 1 user, 3 accounts, 1 destination, daily refresh and 5,000 rows per run. Decide whether you need a pipe or a dashboard. Data Studio is free and connects to Google Ads, Analytics, Search Console and Sheets. Windsor.ai, Supermetrics, Porter Metrics and Funnel are pipes. Every Number turns exports into dashboards. - [Coefficient alternatives for ops and finance teams without a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/coefficient-alternatives): Coefficient's Free plan refreshes by hand and caps imports at 5,000 rows. Starter is $49 a month for one person and Pro is $99 per user a month, billed yearly. For a scheduled refresh, compare Coupler.io, Supermetrics, Zapier and Google's free Salesforce add-on. If a weekly export is enough, HubSpot report emails, Excel Power Query or Every Number fit. - [Klipfolio alternatives for teams and agencies without a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/klipfolio-alternatives): Klipfolio has two products. Klips starts at $120 a month billed yearly for 3 dashboards, and PowerMetrics at $24 per user per month with a 2-user minimum. Neither has a free plan or documents a way to see the rows behind a number outside table drill-downs. AgencyAnalytics, Geckoboard, Databox, Coupler.io, Data Studio, Zoho Analytics and Every Number fit different needs. - [Geckoboard alternatives for KPI screens without a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/geckoboard-alternatives): Geckoboard starts at $79 a month billed yearly for 2 dashboards, 1 editor and 1 TV screen, with no free plan. Klipfolio Klips and Databox fit growing teams, Data Studio, Google Sheets and Grafana Cloud are free starting points, and Zoho Analytics and Power BI fit when you need analysis behind the screen. - [Databox alternatives for teams without a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/databox-alternatives): Databox is free for 1 user and 3 data sources, but Google Sheets and Excel need the $71-a-month Analyst plan, and sharing dashboards and raw CSV export start on Team at $199 a month, billed yearly. Geckoboard, Klipfolio PowerMetrics, Data Studio, AgencyAnalytics, Zoho Analytics and Every Number fit different reasons for leaving. - [Rows alternatives after the May 2026 shutdown (for teams without a data team)](https://everynumber.app/resources/rows-alternatives): Rows joined Superhuman and wound down Rows.com on May 31, 2026. If you used it to pull data into a sheet, look at Coefficient or Coupler.io. If you used it to share dashboards, look at Data Studio, Zoho Analytics, Power BI or Every Number, and check how each one lets a reader trace a number. - [How to build a weekly KPI dashboard from Google Sheets (without a data team)](https://everynumber.app/resources/weekly-kpi-dashboard-google-sheets): Start from the decision the report serves and pick 5 to 7 metrics. Paste each export into its own raw tab, build the report with COUNTIFS and SUMIFS grouped by a Monday week-start column, and show the date the data runs through. Check for totals rows, blanks, duplicates, and text dates before you send. - [PMO dashboard: 12 metrics to report, with definitions](https://everynumber.app/resources/pmo-dashboard-metrics): A PMO dashboard can cover 12 numbers: status color, milestones hit and slipped, schedule and cost variance, budget used, forecast at completion, risks, issues, change requests, resource use, and missing updates. Each needs a written definition, a formula, and one source. A status color without a written rule is an opinion. - [Chief of staff weekly report: a template and the numbers that belong in it](https://everynumber.app/resources/chief-of-staff-weekly-report-template): A chief of staff weekly report works best as one page of about 10 numbers covering revenue or pipeline, hiring, key results, cash and runway, customers, top risks, and decisions needed. Give every number one owner, one source, and a data-through date. Collect from one shared sheet by a fixed deadline, and cut anything nobody decides with. - [Agency client reporting: how to show where every number came from](https://everynumber.app/resources/agency-client-reporting): Ad platforms disagree because they use different attribution models and windows, count conversions differently, date them differently, process data on different schedules, and don't remove duplicate leads. Label every number in a client report with its source, its date range and time zone, its attribution setting, and its definition, and the difference is explained before anyone asks. - [Why dashboard numbers don't match: 9 common causes](https://everynumber.app/resources/why-dashboard-numbers-dont-match): When 2 dashboard numbers that should match don't, they often measure slightly different things. Check definitions, date fields, time zones, and partial periods first, then filters, duplicates, and totals rows inside the data, then joins that repeat rows and analytics sampling or thresholds. Write down each number's definition, date range, filters, and row count before comparing totals. - [Metrics dictionary template: define your numbers in an afternoon](https://everynumber.app/resources/metrics-dictionary-template): A metrics dictionary lists each number your team reports with a one-sentence definition, the calculation, source, filters, rows left out, owner, refresh schedule, and a dated version. Start with the 5 to 7 numbers people decide with. You can draft, test, and approve them in about 4 hours. - [Looker Studio alternatives for teams without a data team (2026)](https://everynumber.app/resources/looker-studio-alternatives): Looker Studio became Data Studio in April 2026. It is still free, and Pro is $9 per user per project per month. Without a data team, compare Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, Databox, Zoho Analytics, Google Sheets, and done-for-you builds on who builds it, what each reader pays, and how a reader traces a number to its rows. - [Spreadsheet vs BI tool vs done-for-you dashboard](https://everynumber.app/resources/spreadsheet-vs-bi-tool-vs-done-for-you): You can build a recurring dashboard yourself in Excel or Google Sheets, adopt a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau, or pay someone to build it. Spreadsheets cost least but need hand work every week. BI tools refresh on a schedule but need a builder and often a license per reader. Done-for-you trades money for time. - [What is data provenance? A plain-English guide for spreadsheet users](https://everynumber.app/resources/what-is-data-provenance): Data provenance is the record of where a number came from, what was done to it, by whom, and when. For one dashboard number, that means 6 facts (source file and sheet, rows used, rows left out, filters, steps, and who calculated it when). A sources tab and named versions keep it in Excel or Google Sheets. - [How to show data freshness on a dashboard](https://everynumber.app/resources/data-freshness-on-dashboards): Data freshness is how recent the newest data behind a number is, shown as the date the data runs through. A last-refreshed time only says when a tool reread its source. Put a data-through date on every number, label partial periods, and flag a number as stale when its data is older than its normal cadence allows. ## Blog - [LLMs shouldn't write your numbers](https://everynumber.app/blog/llms-shouldnt-write-your-numbers): In the product we're building, a language model only writes a small typed spec of the dashboard. A compiler turns it into SQL that PostgreSQL runs on the rows of your upload, with every value passed as a parameter, and the model is never called when you view a number, so the same data gives the same number. Today a person follows these rules by hand. - [Anatomy of a receipt](https://everynumber.app/blog/anatomy-of-a-receipt): A receipt is the 6 facts behind one dashboard number (definition, filters, rows used, rows left out, source, and the date the data runs through). Each part prevents a specific mistake. In the product we're building, the receipt is created with the number and stored with a hash of its inputs, so any past number can be reproduced. - [Why we start with a $99 concierge pilot](https://everynumber.app/blog/why-a-99-concierge-pilot): Before we automate anything, a person builds each pilot dashboard by hand, following the same rules the product will follow. The pilot costs $99 so both sides make a small, real commitment. It's fully refunded if we can't build the dashboard, and it counts toward your first month at launch. ## More - [Full text of every article](https://everynumber.app/llms-full.txt) - [RSS feed](https://everynumber.app/feed.xml)
