# Databox alternatives for teams without a data team (2026)

You set up Databox to get your numbers out of five tools and onto one screen. It worked for you. Then you tried to share the dashboard with the team, or connect the Google Sheet where half the numbers live, and hit a plan limit.

Teams usually leave Databox for one of 3 reasons: the price of sharing, the count of data sources, or a number nobody can explain. Each reason points to a different alternative, so name yours first.

This guide compares 6 alternatives for teams without a data person, using each vendor's official pricing and help pages as of October 28, 2026.

## What does Databox cost in 2026?

Databox lists a free plan and paid plans with a 14-day trial, no card required. These are the yearly-billing prices on its pricing page.

| Plan | Price | Users | Data sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 3 |
| Analyst | $71/mo, yearly | 1 | 5 |
| Team Core | $199/mo, yearly | 3 | 10 |
| Team Scale | $319/mo, yearly | 10 | 30 |
| Agency | From $79/mo, yearly | Unlimited | 20 |

Three details matter if you report from spreadsheets:

- **Google Sheets and Excel need Analyst.** Databox lists them under custom data integrations, which the Free plan doesn't include.
- **Sharing starts on Team.** Links, TV mode and embeds are in the sharing and notifications features, which start at Team Core. Free and Analyst are for one person.
- **Raw CSV export starts on Team.** The help center says you export a dataset as CSV, and data can't be exported directly from data sources.

Data sources are counted strictly, too. Databox defines a data source as a specific dataset, account, property or view, so 3 Google Analytics 4 properties count as 3 sources.

## Why are you leaving Databox?

- **Sharing costs too much.** You need a few teammates or a TV screen, and Team Core is $199 a month. Look at tools priced per account or free for viewers.
- **You run out of data sources.** Every client account or property counts. Look at tools priced per client, or tools that work from one export.
- **Nobody can explain a number.** The dashboard shows 412, the source tool shows 398, and the meeting turns into a hunt. Look at how each tool shows the data behind a number.

## How do the 6 alternatives compare?

Prices are the lowest paid plan, billed yearly, from each official pricing page as of October 28, 2026. "Trace a number" is the vendor's own name for the feature that shows the data behind a value.

| Option | Lowest paid plan | Free plan | Trace a number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geckoboard | Essentials $79/mo | No, 14-day trial | Source data (Performance) |
| Klipfolio PowerMetrics | Launch $24/user/mo | No, 30-day trial | Not documented |
| Data Studio | Pro $9/user/project/mo | Yes | Show underlying data |
| AgencyAnalytics | $20/client/mo | No, 14-day trial | Not documented |
| Zoho Analytics | Basic $24/mo | Yes | View Underlying Data |
| Every Number | Solo $29/mo planned | Free to try | A receipt per number |

## If you want a TV dashboard: Geckoboard

**Geckoboard** is built for KPI screens that stay up on a TV or a shared link. There's no free plan, but there is a 14-day trial. Essentials is $79 a month billed yearly for the account, not per seat: 2 dashboards, 1 editor, 1 TV screen and unlimited viewers. More than 90 integrations and Google Sheets and Excel are on every plan.

The catch is growth. Each extra dashboard is $24 a month and each extra editor $20 a month, billed yearly. Drilldown and Source data, which show the records behind a number, start on Performance at $319 a month and work only for integrations that support source data, such as Zendesk, Aircall and HubSpot. Geckoboard doesn't document it for spreadsheets.

## If you think in metrics: Klipfolio PowerMetrics

**Klipfolio PowerMetrics** is organized around a catalog of metrics rather than dashboards. There's no free plan, and the trial is 30 days with no card. Launch is $24 per user per month billed yearly, with a 2-user minimum, so at least $48 a month. It includes 50 metrics and a 4-hour refresh, and it uploads Excel and CSV files and connects to Google Sheets.

Sharing with people who don't have an account, or on a TV, uses Published Views, which start on Professional at $35 per user per month billed yearly with a 3-user minimum. PowerMetrics doesn't document a way to see the rows behind a number. Download as CSV gives you the calculated results.

## If you want free: Data Studio or Zoho Analytics

**Data Studio** (Google renamed Looker Studio back to Data Studio in April 2026) is free for creators and viewers, with Pro at $9 per user per project per month. It connects to Google Sheets and takes Excel and CSV uploads. Uploaded files don't refresh on their own, and uploading a CSV again appends the rows without removing duplicates. Show underlying data shows the dimensions and metrics a chart used, which is a summary table, not the original rows.

**Zoho Analytics** has a Free plan for 2 users and 10,000 rows. Basic is $24 a month billed yearly for 2 users and 500,000 rows. It schedules imports from files, URL feeds and cloud drives. Click a data point and View Underlying Data shows the rows behind it, as long as the share gives that permission. View-only users are sold separately, in packs of 25.

## If you report for clients: AgencyAnalytics

**AgencyAnalytics** prices per client: $20 per client per month billed yearly, with a 14-day trial and no free plan. Each client gets unlimited data sources, reports and dashboards, plus a white-label portal. It connects to more than 90 marketing platforms and to Google Sheets, which is limited to 2,500 rows, and database connectors are only on volume pricing for 25 clients or more.

If your Databox bill grew with every client's ad accounts, per-client pricing can be simpler. If you report on operations rather than marketing, most of your data would have to pass through Google Sheets first.

## Where does Every Number fit?

Every Number, which publishes this guide, fits the third reason for leaving: a number nobody can explain. You upload the export you already download (Excel or CSV, up to 10 MB), the first screen is laid out by fixed rules, and a database counts every number. Every number opens its receipt: the definition, the rows it used, and the rows it left out, such as test accounts or a totals row.

Drop a file at [everynumber.app/try](/try) with no account and see the dashboard in seconds. Teams that sign up are free for 30 days, with no card. Planned prices once payment opens are $29 a month for Solo and $99 a month for Team, up to 5 people. If you'd rather have it built, the [$99 pilot](/pilot) delivers a dashboard in 5 business days.

It doesn't connect live to your tools. If you need an hourly refresh from ten integrations, Databox or Geckoboard fits that job better. The [export guides](/exports) show where to download the file from 38 common tools.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Databox free?

Yes, with limits. The Free plan is $0 for 1 user, 3 data sources and 1 dashboard, synced once a day. It doesn't include Google Sheets or Excel, which start on Analyst.

### Can you export raw data from Databox?

On Team plans. Databox lists CSV export of datasets from Team Core, and its help center says you export a dataset you built, not a data source directly.

### Which Databox alternative is cheapest?

For sharing with a team, Data Studio and Zoho Analytics both have free plans. Among paid plans, Zoho Analytics Basic is $24 a month billed yearly for 2 users, and Klipfolio PowerMetrics Launch is $24 per user per month with a 2-user minimum.

### Which alternative is best for a TV screen?

Geckoboard is designed for it: Essentials includes 1 TV screen and unlimited viewers for $79 a month billed yearly. Klipfolio PowerMetrics needs Professional for Published Views.

### Can I see the rows behind a number?

Zoho Analytics shows them with View Underlying Data. Data Studio shows a summary table, Geckoboard shows source data on Performance for some integrations, and PowerMetrics and AgencyAnalytics don't document it. In Every Number, each number lists the rows it used and left out.
